Who we are

OUR MISSION

Enabling the sustainable and appropriate deployment of impact technology products aiming to raise the quality of life in emerging markets.

OUR STORY

Scaletech was founded in 2017 by three MIT alumni with a combined 50 years of experience in cleantech operations and finance, including work with multilateral finance institutions, cleantech incubators, and accelerators and as award-winning inventors. From 2017 – 2019, we piloted our approach under the leadership of ImplementaSur SA, a Chilean cleantech advisory. Initially funded by three MIT competitive innovation awards, we incorporated with the support of several major grants, including several EU and state-level funds.

We are currently headquartered in Potsdam, Germany, with additional representation in Cambridge MA, USA.

OUR TEAM

We combine three core types of expertise in building this platform:

  1. On-the-ground knowledge in over 50 markets worlwide based on several decades experience with finance and technical assistance for scaling impact tech;
  2. Expertise in engineering aspects of technology scaling, having designed and taught relevant courses (‘Design for Scale’) at MIT;
  3. Decision Analytics, a method to make complex decisions more transparent, data-driven, and unbiased by the decisionmakers prior knowledge or personal preferences.
